受験塾に通っていた． そこの教師の多くは正社員ではなく，大学生のバイトであった． 大学のバイトの先生は気さくで，生徒をリラックスさせるために授業とは関係のない話をたびたびしてくれた． その中で興味深い話があった．
その先生の大学の先輩（以下「先輩」）が某有名な古墳を盗掘したというのだ． 先生が言うには，盗掘ではなく探険しにいったとのことだ． どちらでもよい．
その古墳は日本で一番有名な古墳である． 国民から有難がられる墓が，本当に有難いものなのか，その逆につまらないものなのか暴いてやろうというつもりだったようだ． アニメ「サイコパス」のセリフを用いて言うならば「さあ、それでは諸君。一つ暴き出してやろうじゃないか。偉大なる信託の巫女のはらわたを」． 日中は人目につくので深夜に行った． 周囲の堀はゴムボートで渡った． 準備良くスコップを持っていった． そして掘った． すると何がでてきたか． 土器がでてきたらしい． 「先輩」は金目のものがなくてつまらないと思ったらしい．
この話が事実かどうかは定かではない． 大事な点は，計画的に文化財を盗んでいく者がいたということである． 日本の文化財を盗んで金に変える，これは特定の集団の行動パターンである．

I went to private classes. Many of the teachers were college student, and they weren't permanent staffs but a temporary staffs. They were friendly and often talked about things that is interesting but unrelated, to relax us. There was an interesting story in them. The teacher said that his senior at his university (here, “SENPAI”) had stolen into a famous ancient tomb.
The ancient tomb is the most famous tomb in Japan. SENPAI wanted to reveal that the ancient tomb loved by Japanese people had really the value or was just not worth. Using the words from the anime "Psychopath", "Now you guys, Let's reveal the offals of shrine maiden of great oracle." He went into the grave at midnight avoiding surrounding eyes. He crossed the moat surrounding the tomb with rubber boat. He was well prepared, brought a shovel. And then, he digged. And then, there was what ? A lot of earthenware came out. "SENPAI" was disappointed because something of value wasn't there.
It is not clear whether this story is true. The most important thing is that some people steal cultural assets intentionally. "Steal Japanese cultural assets and exchange them to money", it is a behavior pattern of specific population in Japan.
