ノーコンティニューで3面クリアはできたし、コンティニューしながらであればボスラッシュまで容易に進めた。
これらを使ったとしても、全く前進できなかったグラディウス3（アーケード版：AC）と対照的である。
なので、難易度に関しては、グラディウス4は3(AC)よりだいぶ易しいといえると思う。
